Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker 3.30 adds the ability to extract stored passwords from Tor and 360 Safe Browser. 360 Safe Browser is among the top 5 most popular Web browsers in China, while Tor is designed to make Web browsing truly anonymous.
Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker receives an update to add support for two well-known Web browsers. Version 3.30 introduces support for Qihoo 360 Safe Browser, one of the most popular Web browsers in China, and Tor, the open-source tool for anonymous Web browsing.
Qihoo 360 Safe Browser
Qihoo 360 Safe Browser is one of China’s most popular Web browsers. According to some sources, it might be the second most-popular desktop Web browser in China. 360 Safe Browser is marketed as a browser focused on security. Along with QQ Browser and UC Browser, 360 Safe Browser is part of the big three Chinese Web browsers.
Like many of its competitors, Qihoo 360 Safe Browser offers the ability to store website passwords. The passwords are encrypted, but are accessible regardless of whether or not the user can sign into their Windows account. Qihoo 360 Safe Browser is available on mobile platforms and as a Windows desktop version.
Tor Browser
The Tor Browser is based on a modified version of Mozilla Firefox, with Microsoft Windows, macOS and Linux versions available. The Tor Browser is designed to deliver full anonymity to its users. By default, the browser deletes privacy-sensitive data such as HTTP cookies and the browsing history upon termination of a session.
Unlike rival Web browsers, Tor’s default settings disable the password management facilities it inherited from the Firefox source. However, users can manually enable the ability to save passwords. If this was the case, Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker 3.30 can instantly extract and decrypt passwords kept in the Tor Browser’s password storage.
With this update, Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker 3.30 can instantly extract stored passwords from the latest versions of popular browsers and email clients. This includes the latest versions of Google Chrome, legacy and current versions of Yandex Browser, QQ Browser, UC Browser, 360 Safe Browser, Mozilla Firefox, both versions of Microsoft Edge (universal and Chromium-based), as well as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera, and Tor. Popular email clients such as Windows Mail (Windows 10), Microsoft Outlook and Thunderbird are also supported.
